Game over!!!
Do you remember when this message was popping up after hours of your favorite video-game? You were addicted, after you fought, ran, jumped, danced, shot, flew, and fell? Frustrated? Satisfied? Angry? If you had known... You did the best you could. No matter what, the game was over, and you had to move on. You were so immersed, so focused, so strong. That was simply perfect. But it did end.
Most of the times, whatever we do, our games go over. Not because of an evil superhero. Simply because of us. Simply because what starts ends. The most basic law of life. At the end of the day, it doesn't make much difference. We lose our motivation, our passion, our illusion, our meaning. We get bored. Is it really worth it? This is where I got stuck two years ago. There was this voice inside telling me, insistently, that this was not where I wanted to go.
Here I am again. (Just Like) Starting Over, as John Lennon sang. As always, you'll find me full of energy, passion, and gratitude. Alive, Open, and Wild. But also highly concerned. How will we feel when the Earth tells us the game is over? We always seem to forget it will be over just for us. The Earth will keep going, like the computer and its virtual superheroes. It was here far before us and will remain far after. We, as a species, would just be a minor anecdote in its million-years history. Some may claim we are the cleverest species on Earth. Maybe. We are definitely the only one going voluntarily straight to its extinction, being fully aware. Are we? Because it is our decision. Every day, our decisions and actions, whether they are conscious or unconscious, have an impact on our environment. Wake up! There are so many things we can do, each of us, on an individual basis. Take ownership and act. Today.
This is my purpose here. Become more aware. Make better decisions. Take better actions. Learn to be a better person, together with you. With my posts and my photography.
It's time to spread our wings and fly
John Lennon
Don't let another day go by, my love
It'll be just like starting over.

Laurent, I LOOOOOVE this post. I love the metaphor of the video game ending. I felt it, viscerally, as you talked me through that emotional experience. #TakeOwnership.
Thanks Paula for your visit and your comment. 🙂
Unfortunately, we still behave as if Earth was just a video game. And it is not!
